We had brilliant weather for our annual parish lunch, hot and sunny but with a breeze to keep things comfortable. Breaking with the barbecue tradition we served burritos in honour of American Independence day. For those interested in the recipe for this mixture of pulled pork, beans, salsa, sour cream and guacamole wrapped in a flour tortilla – I will put it at the end of this post as soon as I can. Nicki Talbot and I did most of the cooking of the main course – and Nicki did amazing work in keeping the show on the road
Thank you to everyone who brought the wonderful puddings – you can see from the pictures how popular they were! And thank you too to everyone who helped us put up and take down tents and gazebos, tables and chairs and in particular to Cecil who did sterling service on the bar dispensing Pimms and wine in his inimitable style.
