Intercessions 27th May Nick Irens

Creator God, eternally existing in three divine persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, we come before you to offer our praise and adoration, and we pray that you will keep us steadfast in our faith in you.

Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Heavenly Father, fill our hearts and homes with the love you have so freely given. Awaken us to new beginnings. Help us, as part of your universal church, to reach out to others with the good news of Christ.

We pray for Bishop James and our priest, Wendy. We give thanks for those who inspire us by their Christian leadership and we pray that we may be welcoming, to all who come to join us here in prayer.

We ask you to guide us in our relationships with each other, within the Church, within our families and with our neighbours. May you draw us together in your fellowship of love and joy.

Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Lord our God, we thank you for the blessings of our country and the freedoms we enjoy. We pray for our Queen and her family and we ask you to bless the marriage of Prince Harry and Meghan, bestowing on them your great gift of children.

We pray that you guide the nations in the way of justice, liberty and peace. That the Holy Spirit may unite and reconcile the peoples and those in authority, to bring an end to war, hatred and discrimination.

Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Gracious Father, we give thanks for our beautiful world and ask that you make us more aware of our responsibilities to our environment, our climate and our resources, so we may ensure that the beauty of the earth continues for future generations.

Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

God of hope, we turn to you for those who are eaten up with guilt and foreboding, those whose Christian life is a steep and rocky path. We bring to you the despairing and despondent, and those who are tempted to do wrong. May they have your guidance and strength.

We pray for all those who are weak, who are ill, who cannot cope on their own, and all those in need or trouble, who ask for our prayers.

Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Loving Father, we pray for all in hospital and those who care for them. Through your abundant love may they find comfort and hope.

We pray for those we have loved but see no more. They remain forever in our hearts; and may they rest in peace in your heavenly home forever.

Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Holy Trinity, three persons and one God, may we look for and know your presence in our daily lives,

  • In our relationships
  • In our work and service
  • In our recreation
  • In our worship
  • and in our times of joy and sorrow

Jesus Christ is the light of the world, a light which no darkness can obscure. We pray that you turn our darkness into light and in your light shall we see light.

Merciful Father, accept these prayers for the sake of your Son, our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen
