Plus there’s the lovely family Crib & Carol Service on Christmas Eve at 4.0pm at Hever. We hope to see you at at least one of these special Christmas services to welcome the new King’s birth.
In the midst of Christmas celebrations we are also saying good bye to Revd Jane Weeks, at a service of thanksgiving at Hever on Sunday 20th December, with drinks in the church afterwards so we can all say our farewells and thank her personally.
After five busy years here we are very sorry to be losing her to a new team ministry in Elham in the Canterbury diocese, where she will be close to her family.
Following the Nine Lessons & Carols Service in the church at 7.00pm, on Friday 18th December, Hever PCC warmly invite you to join them for a 2-course hot supper in Hever Village Hall.
Tickets are £10 per head and can be booked through Cynthia Mead on 01732 864407
Those of you who were at church on Sunday will have heard the sad news that Revd Jane is leaving the benefice. She is returning to the Canterbury diocese where she will be close to her mother and daughter.
We have had a stimulating and interesting five years under her care, with many new traditions which I am sure will continue. She will be much missed.
Her last services with us will be at Christmas.
Markbeech church is always open all day on Saturday and Sunday. And from 1st October, the church will also be open on Tuesday evenings between 6.0 pm and 8.0 pm for quiet individual contemplation. Please do come and use this beautiful space to take time out of your busy week in peace and tranquil meditation.
I diligently did the flowers in church on Saturday morning only to realise later that there was no service at Markbeech this weekend – so I am giving the flowers an airing here!
