This Sunday, Trinity Sunday, we are having a special choral service with choir and children, and inviting you afterwards to enjoy a glass or two of prosecco. This is a double celebration for the Queen’s 90th birthday and our own Patronal Festival. Most churches are named after a Saint – their Patron Saint and so have a festival on their Saint’s day, but at Markbeech we are named for the Holy Trinity so our special Sunday is Trinity Sunday.
We do hope you can join us.

Going through some old files on my computer, I happened on this pic from nearly 13 years ago.
So many familiar faces – the children are now all adults – but everone else looks remarkably unchanged!
The Easter week starts this Sunday, March 20th, with the Palm Sunday service at Markbeech. We are meeting at 10.45 am at Ann and John Cleeve’s house, Buckhurst Cottage, Markbeech, TN8 5NR where the donkeys live, and we shall follow the donkeys back to the church, singing and waving palm fronds. It’s a lovely occasion and much enjoyed by children. There are two donkeys a mother and her foal – watch the video for our attempts at seeing how the mother donkey takes to having a young rider on her back for the first time!

All around the village people are preparing! Jars are being labelled, spices are steeping, supplies are being gathered so that all is ready for Saturday at noon. Come and make our efforts worthwhile by joining us at our annual bazaar. Buy some yummy goodies, get ahead on your Christmas presents and save on making lunch by enjoying a delicious quiche or home made soup.
Please join us for lunch on Sunday July 5th, at Old Farm, Markbeech. £10 per head, under 16s free.
